Carl Sagan: 17 Years Ago we were warned..in his last interview.

The interview clip originally aired on "Charlie Rose" on May 27, 1996.

Carl Sagan expressed two types of dangers in '96
  • We have arranged a society around science and technology.
  • That nobody understands science and technology.
Carl Sagan inspired a generation of scientists with his work in and out of the classroom, but he didn't always present science with cheer. He claimed that this is a combustible mix of ignorance and power if no is running science & technology. Fast Forwarding to now we see social media has been born and things like Facebook & Twitter often take the stage as new media outlets, faster and sometimes more powerful than old media itself (Newspaper & News TV). With that type of power there has also been a lot of disinformation that goes around heavily such as the celebrity deaths, Kony 2012, etc.
So with these warnings what should the people of Earth do against the government(s) which refuses to acknowledge the power of science and technology in a beneficial way?
